Located
in the southwest portion of Sparta, IL, SHS Varsity Baseball field is home to the Sparta
High School Bulldogs, Sparta Senior American Legion, and Sparta Junior Legion Patriots Baseball teams. SHS Varsity Field has
been recognized as one of the top baseball fields in Southern Illinois since its opening
in 1999. It’s “Field of Dreams” feel to many players and coaches, SHS Varsity Field will continue to grow
as a great baseball facility and will be a premier sporting complex for years to come.

Directions to SHS Field
From Route 4 travling South: Continue South into Sparta. Come to the four-way stop at
First National Bank and turn Right on to West Broadway. Continue West and turn Left
on to Chester Street. Continue 5/10th's of a mile South on Chester Street. Field will be on your Left.
From Route 4 travling North: Continue North into Sparta. Turn Left
on to Belmont Street. Turn Left on to Chester Street. Continue 3/10th's of a mile South on Chester Street.
Field will be on your Left.
From Highway 154 travling East: Continue East into Sparta. Turn Right
on to Chester Street. Continue 5/10th's of a mile South on Chester Street. Field will be on your Left.
From Highway 154 travling West: Continue West into Sparta. Go through two, four-way
stops. Turn Left on to Chester Street. Continue 5/10th's of a mile South on Chester Street. Field will be
on your Left.
